June 24 & 25,  Day 8 & 9

We hiked the 10 miles to East Glacier today. We decided to stay at the hostel we had stayed at the first time we came through East Glacier. I did laundry, showered, bought 6 days of food at the general store; all the town chores. We shipped our ice axes and micro spikes home, the East Glacier postmaster was really friendly and helped us figure out what boxes to use.

Got up this morning with the intention to hike out. Packed up everything and charged up all the devices. But, then a bunch more southbounders started streaming into the hostel! Patch finally got here, and so did Scallywag, ED, Whistle, and some other folks. It’s amazing how such a big group of people could be half a day behind us, and we were so alone for the whole week in Glacier. We decided to “zero” today (hike zero miles) and leave with the group tomorrow. It’s good for the muscles and tendons to rest another day, anyhow, after the tough first week.
